The first bird’s nest rings I saw were on Etsy back in 2006. There were really popular back then, being first on Etsy’s Top 100 Items list. Over the years, the number of bird’s nest ring makers have grown and there are many variations to the style.

The bird’s nest rings come made in different materials like argentium silver, sterling silver, clay, and craft wire. The eggs are usually made of swarovski glass pearls (which can withstand more than fresh water pearls) and some other variations like amazonite (pictured right). The bird’s nest rings that come with amazonite resembles the robin’s nest.
